At
the request of one of Cowley's staff, the ACES assembled a group
on Oct. 8 to paint a small house for an elderly woman. The lady
had purchased paint years ago but was unable to find anyone to
help her paint it. The house was several different colors, and
had quite a bit of exposed wood when we started painting around
9a.m. In less than five hours, we completed our task and left the
woman's home looking brand new!

11.12.2004, Operation Happy Holiday
Cathy
Hendricks started Operation Life Saver in 2003. She and her students
gathered around 100 pounds of candy to send in care packages
to our troops overseas. We wanted to do something similar this
year to show support for our troops. On Nov. 12, students packaged
items collected (letters, books, candy, etc.) here on campus
to send to troops as part of Operation Happy Holiday. We are
delighted that the packages were received in time for Christmas!

12.02.2004, Santa Party

Christmas is about giving, so we wanted to give kids the opportunity
to meet with Santa! Santa met with kids at the Ark City campus
on the second and the Southside Education Center in Wichita on
the seventh. We decorated and cleaned up the rooms that were used
for the parties. Kids, parties and Santa always add up to lots
of fun for everyone involved!
