Communications students at Cowley have the flexibility to incorporate into their program the types of work they are interested in, while learning the basic fundamentals needed to prepare them for the four-year college/university or employment.
Students interested in radio have the opportunity to broadcast the Lady Tiger and Tiger basketball games live over the air on one of the local radio stations. Students interested in public relations have the opportunity to work on marketing projects for local businesses to gain practical experience in this arena.
An important part of the communications program is the Tyger Tawk Communications Club. The club began in 2004 and offers many fun activities. Tyger Tawk sponsors two major events in the fall - Talent / No Talent Show and Children's Theatre Productions and two events in the spring - Sheet Contest and Battle of the Bands. Tyger Tawk also works with the Creative Writing class in sponsoring many of these events, including Open Mike Night!
Tyger Tawk Communications Club is open to all students. You do not have to be a communications major to participate!
