Fort Hays State University Articulation

Fort Hays State UniversityThe articulation between Cowley College and Fort Hays State University is a 2+2 program where students complete the Associate of Arts degree through Cowley College before transferring to FHSU’s online teacher education program.

Two programs are currently offered which provide the future educator with additional experiences in sought after fields. The first option is an Elementary Education degree with an emphasis on Early Childhood. This option will offer the future educator the opportunity to apply for a teaching license to work with children birth through sixth grade.

The second option is an Elementary Education degree with an emphasis in Special Education. This option will offer the future educator the opportunity to apply for a teaching license to work with K-6 students in the general education classroom and/or to work with those identified as special needs.

Upon completion of the Associate of Arts degree from Cowley College, this unique program provides the convenience of online instruction by FHSU during the junior and senior years of the education degree program. Students will have the opportunity to work with their local school districts for required field experiences and student teaching.
