Automotive students doing good workautomotive students
High school students Tommy Edwards and Michael Frederick are enrolled in Cowley College’s automotive program, and deserve a nice pat on the back for a job well done. Edwards and Frederick put a new brake system in a Classic 1964 Ford Galaxy owned by Matt Kmiec, an instructor at Arkansas City High School. read more


Automotive program receives new alignment machinealignment machine
With the Steering and Suspension class scheduled to begin April 15, Cowley College’s automotive program is excited to begin learning the fundamentals of their brand new “Hunter Hawk Eye Elite” alignment machine.
Equipped with pronto digital imaging technology, and simple operations, this machine allows shops to be more efficient, resulting in lower costs. Digital cameras measure the wheels position and orientation by using reflective targets which assures pinpoint accuracy. read more


Autry Tech students tour CTE Program
CTE tour Thirteen students and two instructors from Autry Tech in Enid, OK visited the campus. They visited the CTE programs, received a campus tour, and ate lunch in the cafeteria. Krystle Nies had visited Autry Tech this past fall. Ryland Stonehocker, the Autry Tech Instructor, and Joe Clasen have communicated about the opportunities here at Cowley as well. Mulvane CTE Tour Day 2013Tech Day
On November 21, 2013 students from Mulvane, Oxford, and Argonia visited the Cowley College Mulvane Career and Technical Education Center. Joe Clasen, Cowley’s CTE department chair, discussed the programs available at the Cowley College Mulvane CTE Center. The students toured the automotive, welding, and non-destructive testing classrooms and labs. View photo gallery.

welding programCody Morris, Ag Mechanics Instructor from Ark City High School, and his students, recently toured the Cowley College welding department. Cowley College welding instructor Bob Moffatt performed a pipe weld demonstration for the group.


Programs showcased during Technology DayTechnology Day
Students from Oklahoma had an opportunity to tour respective shop areas and explore opportunities available to them during Technology Day at Cowley College on Tuesday.
Featured programs included Automotive, Machine and Tool Tech, Manufacturing Tech, Non-Destructive Testing, Numerical Control Programming, and Welding.  read more


Boy Scout Merit Badge event held at Career and Technical Education Center
Boy ScoutsEight individuals with Boy Scout Troop 328 took part in a merit badge event Saturday at Cowley College’s Career and Technical Education Center in Arkansas City.
Greg Siepert, American Welding Society Kansas Section chairman, gave a presentation on safety and (GMAW) gas metal arc welding.
Bob Moffatt, Cowley College welding instructor, then gave the youngsters six individual small projects to work on in the welding shop. Moffatt also gave two plasma-cutting demonstrations. read more
