Adriana SomervilleA big welcome to our new Alumni Relations/Golden Tigers Coordinator, Adriana Somerville! Adriana replaces Margaret Neal who retired the end of July. Adriana will report to Dr. Gregg, Vice-President of Institutional Advancement. If you need to reach her, her office is in the Brown Center Room 104 and her extension is 5286.

As our Alumni Relations/Golden Tigers Coordinator, Adriana will responsible for connecting alumni to the college. She will plan outings and educational programs and workshops for the Golden Tigers group.

Adriana is a graduate of Wichita State University where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Communication. She also attended Cowley College where she studied secondary education. She most recently worked at David’s Bridal where she was a customer service representative.

Adriana grew up in Winfield and her family still resides there. She has a cat named Miney. When not working, she enjoys traveling and trying new foods. She also has a deep appreciation for the arts.

What excites Adriana most about working at Cowley College is that she “had a fantastic time at Cowley as a student” and is once again excited to be part of the Cowley community.

Delayne Dale

Photo of Delayne DaleWelcome to the Cowley family Delayne Dale, our new Cosmetology Instructor. Delayne will be working alongside of Paige Winslow our new Lead Cosmetology Instructor. Together, they will make a fanstastic team! Delayne reports to Chris Cannon, Department Chair for Health and Human Services/EMS Program Director. Her office is in the basement of Ireland Hall.

As a Cosmetology Instuctor, Delayne will "influence the creativity on the clinic floor and teach students how to create magic through hair." What excites her most about working at Cowley is getting to interact with students.

Delayne graduated with her Associates of Applied Science from Cowley College. Delayne has been in the hair industry for 13 years and had most recently worked at Hair@BeeTween Friends.

Delayne has an adorable blonde haired son name Tucker James who is 3 years old. She also has a pet dog name Bubba. When not working, she enjoys camping, fishing and gardening.

One of Delayne's favorite slogans is "Life's a garden. Dig it!"

 

Tracy Circle

Department Secretary for Visual and Performing Arts

Tracy reports to Janice Stover, AVP of Academics and Secondary Partnerships. Her office is in the Brown Center and you can reach her at her extension of 5223.

As a Department Secretary for the Visual and Performing Arts department, Tracy plans to "help the VPA department work seemlessly together and hopefully have a good time!"

Tracy graduated from Ponca City High School and then went to Northern Oklahoma College to study Public Relations. She has worked as an Office Manager/Legal Assistant at Menzer Law Office for the past 17 years.

Tracy has a husband Jason; a daughter Autumn; son Justice and (4) dogs. When not working she enjoys reading, blogging, and arts and crafts.

What excites Tracy most about working at Cowley is that she "gets to with the VPA department where she has a strong passion and love for the arts."

 

Valerie White

Admissions Coordinator

Photo of Valerie WhiteA big Tiger "welcome" to Valerie White our new Admissions Coordinator here at the main campus. Valerie replaces Jancye Sturd who will be leaving Cowley tomorrow. Valerie will report to Kristi Shaw, Executive Director of Enrollment Management. As an Admissions Coordinator, Valerie will be responsible for International student enrollment and student athlete advising.

Valerie began her educational journey at Cowley College where she earned her Associates degree in Business Administration. She then went to the University of Kansas where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Management/Business.  From there she went to Florida Atlantic University where she earned her MBA in Sports Management.  Most recently, Valerie worked at Indiana University Athletic Department as a Senior Recruiter Assistant for Football. 

Valerie is going to be a first time mom with the birth of her daughter who is due to grace the world on October 3rd.  When asked what she likes to do in her spare time when not at work, her reply was “EAT!” 

Besides being really excited to be back at Cowley, Valerie is really happy to return home to Ark City!

Julianna Smarsh

Admissions Representative

Photo of Julianna SmarshA big Tiger "welcome" to Julianna Smarsh our new Admissions Representative here at the main campus. She replaces Brandi Gibbs who will be leaving us tomorrow. Julianna presently reports to Kristi Shaw, Executive Director of Enrollment Management. If you need to reach Julianna you can visit her in the Admissions Office in Galle-Johnson or you can call her at extension is 5580.

As an Admissions Representative, Julianna will be communicating with students and assisting them in the registration process here at Cowley College.    

She graduated at Southwestern College with her Bachelors of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration.  Most recently, she was employed at Southwestern College as a Registrar’s Assistant and Libraray Technician.

Julianna has a fiancé name Jonathan Lane, who happens to be a Cowley alum.  She has (2) ferrets named Kyre and Esmeralda.  When not working, she enjoys performing in music theatre. 

Julianna is most excited “to help various students become enrolled and be excited themselves to come here.”

Sterling Terry

Assistant Wrestling Coach/Dorm Manager

Photo of Sterling TerryLet's give a big Tiger welcome to Sterling Terry as our new Assistant Wrestling Coach/Dorm Manager. As his position is divided between Wrestling and Housing, Sterling will report to both Beau Vest, Head Wrestling Coach and Lynlea Bartlett, Director of Housing. Sterling’s office will be in the Recreation Building.

As our Asst. Wrestling Coach/Dorm Manager, he will to help mold yount wrestlers into the best version of themesleves on and off the mat.

Sterling graduated with his MBA from Midland University where he also worked as a graduate assistant under Beau Vest, our Head Wrestling Coach.

Sterling has (3) younger siblings that he is proud of; two of them are still in high school. When not working, Sterling enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

When asked what excites him most about being at Cowley is that he "is back in his hometown starting a brand new program with Coach Vest."

One of Sterling's favorite quotes is "When life knocks you down 7 times, you get back up 8 times."

Glenwood Edwards, Jr.

Glenwood Edwards, Jr.We are proud to welcome Glenwood Edwards, Jr. as our new Asst. Track Coach - Throwers. Glenwood reports directly to Mark Phillips, Head Coach of Track and Field. Glenwood’s office is located in the Hafner Training Center and you can reach him at extension 6187.

As an Assistant Coach - Throwers, Glenwood will train student athletes and assist Coach Phillips with our awesome Track and Field team.

Glenwood attended the University of Memphis where he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Sport Leisure Studies. Most recently, Glenwood worked as an instructional assistant at Delaney High School in Baltimore, MD.

Glenwood recently got married to wife, Stephanye. They have a daughter named Marion. When not working, he enjoys reading, working out and watching the History Channel.

When asked what excites him most about Cowley is the ability to train, mentor and inspire young men and women athletically, academically and personally.

One of Glenwood’s favorite inspiration comes from a collection of poetry “The Rose That Grew From the Concrete” by Tupac Shakur.

Laura Thomas

Administrative Assistant – VP of Academic Affairs

Laura ThomasWe are excited and proud to welcome Laura Thomas as our new Administrative Assistant – VP of Academic Affairs. Laura reports directly to Doc Arnett, VP of Academic Affairs. Laura is located in the Academic Affairs office in Galle Johnson and you can reach her at extension 5238.

As an Administrative Assistant to the VP of Academic Affairs, Laura will be supporting Doc and the Academic Affairs office in the administrative duties necessary to make this office run smoothly and successfully.

Laura most recently worked as an HR Manager at Husky Liners (formerly Winfield Consumer Products) at Strother Field.

Laura is married to her husband, Bob and they have two daughters Shanna and Michelle; a son Scott; and 3 (soon to be 4) grandchildren: Isabella, Becket, Evelyn, and Thomas (due on September 1st). When not working, Laura enjoys traveling with Bob and visiting their grandchildren.

When asked what excites her most about being at Cowley, Laura answered that she is “thrilled to be a part of such a positive contributor to our community.”
