Shayla McDonald, Class of 2004, lives in Arkansas City. She graduated from Wichita State University in May with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She was recently hired as an admissions representative at Cowley. She loves working at Cowley and feels it has made her journey full circle.

Stephanie (Berry) Maxwell, Class of 2003, and her husband, Jeff, live in Kechi, Kan. She serves as a customer service representative at Legacy Bank, while Jeff is a seventh grade reading teacher.

Troy Nicks, Class of 2003, lives in Haysville, Kan.

Danella Hardy, Class of 1998 and 2000, lives in Wichita, Kan. She and her husband, Dennis, have two children, Devan 5, and Drew 8 months old. She serves as a medical transcriptionist, while Dennis is a A&P mechanic at Cessna Aircraft Company.

Stacy (Jackson) Nadeau, Class of 1999, and her husband, Charles, live in Derby. The couple have one daughter, Charlise, who was born July 7, 2006. Stacy finished her MBA at Southwestern College in Winfield in 2006. She is employed at Damm Pharmacies in Derby. Her husband, Charles, is a Six-Sigma Specialist at Hawker-Beechcraft.

Regina Stanton, Class of 1999, lives n Manhattan, Kan. She is employed at the Manhattan Mercury, where she handles classified/real estate/legal publications.

Alicia (Clasen) Martin, Class of 1998, and her husband, Andrew, live in Cibolo, Texas. The couple have one son, Schuyler 1. Alicia is a homemaker, while Andrew is a United States Air Force KC-135 pilot. Alicia remembers Bev Grunder being an enjoyable teacher and advisor. Other highlights of her time at Cowley was being involved in the concert and jazz band.

Laura (Trenari) Frazier, Class of 1998, and her husband, Jeremy, live in Owasso, OK. The couple have three children, Braden 8, Jace 5, and Colin 1. Laura is a registered nurse, while Jeremy is employed at Carman BNSF.

Lance Rhodd, Class of 1991, and his wife, Ashley, lives in Cedar Vale, Kan. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Dec. 2006 with a Master’s degree in school leadership. He is employed as the principal at Cedar Vale High School.

Eric Kurtz, Class of 1990, lives in Claremore, Okla. He was recently promoted to Sr. VP — Commercial Lending of RCB Bank based in Claremore, Okla. RCB is a $1 billion holding company with branches located in Claremore, Pryor, Skiatook, Collinsville, Broken Arrow, Union, Inola, Catoosa, Ponca City, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma City and Edmond.

Robert Tatum, Class of 1980, and his wife, Kimberly, live in Burden, Kan. Robert serves as a transportation manager for U.S.D. 462, while Kimberly is the Director of Human Resources for the Kansas Commission on Veterans’ Affairs.

Karen (Bohannon) McConnell, Class of 1978, lives in Carbondale, Colo. She has two children, Ryan Bohannon, who also attended Cowley and graduated from Wichita State University, and Megan Bohannon, a senior at Colorado University. Karen is a legal assistant/paralegal. She enjoys exercising in the mountains.

Fred Holroyd, Class of 1963, and his wife, Nedra, live in Topeka. He serves as the vice president of community development for Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, where he has been employed for 37 years. The couple have two sons, Jim and Jared. They also have two grandchildren, Darby and Jacek. After Cowley, Fred graduated from Baker University and also from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He is currently serving as the vice-president of The Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts. Having been appointed by the governor three years ago, he is very active in the Topeka community. He has fond memories of his time playing football  at Cowley. He was an all-conference and all-American selection in 1962. 

Dave Dickerson, Class of 1967, lives in Liberty, Mo. He and his wife, Chloe, have two children, Tracy Hansen 37, and Clay Dickerson 32. Dave is the owner of Dickerson Construction. He has fond memories of playing basketball at Cowley for coaches Del Heidebrecht and Ben Cleveland. He enjoys spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends from church. When time allows, he enjoys restoring “project” cars.

Tom Baird, Class of 1957, lives in Montrose, Colo. He and his second wife, Joy, have a combined six children and eight grandchildren. After graduating from Cowley, Baird served two years in the military. He then worked a year as a lab foreman for Pomona Tile at Strother Field in Arkansas City. He also spent a summer working at APCO (Total) prior to graduating from Kansas State University with an engineering degree in 1961. He spent the next six years with the Forest Service in Idaho and Utah. He moved to Montrose in 1967 and retired in 1985 from the Bureau of Land Management as District Engineer. He continued to do engineering consulting for four years after retirement. He and Joy are actively involved in volunteer work and have traveled extensively. He has also been a member of the Montrose Rotary Club for 36 years, while also serving as a charter member of Montrose Chapter SPEBSQSA from 1976-1993.
