We Heard From...

Aaron Loehr, Class of 2007, attends school at Pittsburg State University. At PSU, he serves as a Resident Assistant in one of the dormitories. At Cowley, he was involved in Act One Drama Club, was secretary of the Student Government Association, was a Homecoming King nominee, and was a member of the Cowley Crazies.

Kayoko Harper, Class of 2004, and her husband, Albert Martinez, live in Winfield, Kan. The couple has two children, William 13, and Jared 10. Kayoko started a web stone business, www.SeniorPetCareProducts.com, for senior and disabled dogs. Albert is employed as a jet engine mechanic.

Renee Bruce, Class of 2004, lives in Americus, Kan. She recently graduated from Emporia State University.

Elizabeth (Lind) Harned, Class of 2001, and her husband, Brian, live in Lake Bluff, IL. She recently became the executive director of Hill Top Center in Lake Bluff, IL, North of Chicago. The company is a multi-use senior home providing care for those relying on Christian Science for healing.

Brian Jacoby, Class of 2001, and his wife, Nicola, live in Wichita, Kan.

Heidi Barclay, Class of 1999, lives in Derby, KS. She recently graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in criminal justice. She is employed as a Senior Corrections Worker for Sedgwick County. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her three-year-old daughter, Elizabeth.

Arthur VanNostrand, who attended Cowley College in 1999, and his wife, Dena, live in Arkansas City. He is employed as a leather crafter/knifesmith at Dutchman Crafts, while Dena is a nurse.

Hope (McPherson) Collier, Class of 1993, and her husband, Charles, live in Overland Park, Kan. The couple has three children, Aaron 16, Andrue 15, and Gabrielle 11. Hope serves as a site supervisor/administrative logistician for Netstar-1 Government Services.

Curtis Roberts, Class of 1989, and his wife, Brook Roberts, live in Rose Hill, KS. Curtis is employed as a Team Lead at HawkerBeechcraft, while Brook is a controller at Friends University. The couple have three boys, Hunter 13, Dalton 10, and Brady 5. They recently remodeled the house Brook grew up in and stay busy taking the kids to participate in sporting events.

Jack Stark, Class of 1951, and Gail Stark, Class of 1956, recently moved to Wichita, KS after spending the previous 29 years residing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Jack is retired from the National Park Service. He was awarded the Cowley College Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1991. Gail was Queen Alalah in 1955. The couple have three children, Jennifer Fry, Cindy Winfrey, and John Stark.

Ann (Creighton) Barker, Class of 1941, lives in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She works part time as a purchasing manager for Mayer Incentives and Meetings. She and her husband, Craig Barker (deceased) lived in Hawaii from 1971 to 1981. She also lived in Arkansas prior to moving to Ft. Lauderdale in 1994. At Arkansas City Junior College, she was in the Teachers Cadet Program. Since graduation she has had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the country. She has fond memories of ACJC’s music and drama department. She also remembers that just a few months after graduation many of her classmates entered into some branch of the military or were engaged in a support area for World War II.
