College accepting donations to help with repairs
Thanks to the Deferred Maintenance Tax Credit program offered by the State of Kansas, Cowley College will repair two sections of the Brown Center roof. In 2008, Cowley netted nearly $64,000 in its Capital Outlay Fund. The cost of the project is $40,600 and the remaining funds from the program will be held for future maintenance needs.
The program will be offered again in 2009 with over $156,000 available in tax credits. The list of repairs needed includes additional roof repairs, lighting and air conditioning, new carpet, parking lot overlays, and more.
A gift to Cowley County Community College will earn you a 60% Kansas tax credit and will offer Cowley the opportunity to make these critical repairs. We are now accepting donations for 2009 and they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
