We Heard From
2000’s
Katie Todd, Class of 2005, lives in Wichita, KS. She has two children, Brennan,
13, and Alexis 8. She graduated Cum Laude from Wichita State University in Dec.
2008 with a degree in Criminal Justice and is currently employed as a truancy
coordinator. She credits Cowley College with helping getting her started on the
road to academic success.
Nathan Wohlever, Class of 2002, lives in College Park, MD. He is employed as
a flight attendant for United Airlines.
1990’s
Tania Roth, Class of 1994, and her husband, Eric, live in Sun Valley, Nevada.
She serves as a psychiatric caseworker for the State of Nevada-Department of
Children and Family Services. While, Eric is a graduate student at the University
of Nevada-Reno specializing in Cognition and Brain Sciences.
Dolores (Vannoster) Wells, Class of 1991, lives in Arkansas City, KS. She has
three children, Cheryl Boyce, Cynde Feste, and Tommy Wells Jr. She also has nine
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
1980’s
Jacqueline Wilson, Class of 1981, lives in Indianapolis, IN. She is employed
as a care coordinator for the Choices/Dawn Project.
1970’s
Mark Carvalho, Class of 1976, and his wife, Teresa, live in Wichita. The couple
has three daughters, ages 17, 14, and seven. Mark is a baseball/softball facility
director and instructor at Elite Hitting Dynamics. While, Teresa is in management
at Cessna Aircraft. Mark was a two-year starter on the Cowley College baseball
team in 1975-76. At Cowley, then head coach Ben Cleveland instilled in him the
confidence to go on to Wichita State University. After college, Mark became a
head baseball coach in the college ranks for 16 years and a summer baseball coach
for the past 25 years. He is the all-time winningest baseball coach in Friends
University history. This summer, he will be the head coach for the Team Elite
Kings, which is a NBC collegiate team.
1960’s
Jack Blatchford, Class of 1966, and his wife, Donna Jo, live in Arkansas City,
KS. After working 30 years at General Electric, Jack has spent the past 10 years
as a sales consultant at Zeller Motor Co. Donna Jo has worked for 15 years as
a dental assistant. The couple has four children, Eric, Kim, Jeff, and Mike.
Jack has fond memories of his instructors at the college and has enjoyed watching
the progress of the school.
Jim McNeal, Class of 1960, and his wife, Karol Lack, live in Hot Springs Village,
AR. Jim is retired. He was the chairman of the committee that negotiated the
property exchange between USD 470 and the college to allow development of the
current campus located in Arkansas City.
