Cowley forms new credit transfer agreement with Bellevue University
A new credit transfer agreement between Cowley College and Bellevue University
will enable Cowley College associate degree students to complete a baccalaureate
degree online by selecting from over 20 online accelerated bachelor’s degree
completion programs at Bellevue University. Bellevue University will accept all
associate degree credits from Cowley College, including the Associated of Applied
Science, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Arts, and Associate of Science.
The partnership offers several benefits to students and faculty. One of the first
universities in the nation to offer degree programs online, Bellevue University
in Nebraska is widely recognized as a leader in online learning. They consult
with Community College Partners to bring learning content online – effectively
and efficiently. In addition, the University provides flexible and relevant learning
opportunities for faculty to earn terminal degrees, and enhance their teaching
experiences.
“Bellevue University offers Cowley College an excellent opportunity to
increase enrollment by allowing students to build on their associate’s
degrees and earn their bachelor’s degrees in as little as 12 months,” said
Robert Cox, Community College Outreach at Bellevue University. “We are
excited about this partnership and look forward to helping Cowley College students
reach their academic goals.”
Slade Griffiths, vice president of academic affairs at Cowley, is looking forward
to this partnership.
“I was immediately impressed with this online program that could help give
many local students the opportunity to acquire a bachelor’s degree by taking
Bellevue University classes and acquiring additional classes at Cowley,” Griffiths
said. “It is a great opportunity for students to reach their higher education
goals while continuing to live and work in our community.”
