Tiger sports programs well represented on list of All-Academic Teams

The accolades continue to roll in for the Cowley College athletic department as they recently had seven athletic programs make the list of the 2010 NJCAA All-Academic Teams of the Year.

Cowley College athletic director Tom Saia is proud of the accomplishments made by the Tiger athletes in the classroom.

“This is a credit to our coaches and the quality of student-athletes they recruit,” Saia said. “These student-athletes have represented Cowley College well and will continue to do so in the future.”

Cowley was led by its indoor women’s track team finishing second with a 3.17 cumulative grade point average. Lady Tiger indoor track team members Cecilia Burley (Distinguished Academic All-American), Robin Ray (Academic All-American), and Leigh Ann Omarkhail made up the half marathon team, which also placed second with a combined 3.50 GPA.
