STOMP Makes Music at Cowley
by Rama Peroo
Using everyday household items such as brooms, trash cans, match boxes, and sinks to create extraordinary music and dance, the world famous group STOMP kept the audience entertained throughout its 90 minute Jan. 17 performance in a near capacity Robert Brown Theatre.
Along with its incredible music and dance, members of STOMP performed with humor and theatrical flair.
“I thought STOMP was amazing,” said Shannon Massey, Cowley College’s executive director of alumni and development. “I love seeing the theatre full with people laughing and clapping and having a great time.”
Having performed its choreographed percussion, movement, and physical comedy at venues all around the world, Tuesday’s performance was a rare opportunity to see the group in Kansas. “
Thank you to all who purchased tickets for the show,” Massey said. “We are able to bring these phenomenal shows right here to Arkansas City because of the dedication and support of this community.”
