Cowley holds Decade of the 60’s Reunion
Each year of the 1960’s was represented during Cowley College’s Decade of the 60’s Reunion held Thursday, Oct. 25 on the school’s main campus in Arkansas City.
Seventy five alumni attended the reunion which began with a campus tour and led into a social gathering.
“Walking around with alumni, some of which had not set foot on campus since attending here decades ago, was truly remarkable,” Ben Schears, vice president for student affairs said. “I think they enjoyed seeing the traditions and impact they helped establish as students still being carried on a half-century later.”
Individuals enjoyed appetizers from Great Western Dining and spent nearly two hours reconnecting and visiting with old friends. During the gathering a slideshow, put together by Library Director Rhoda MacLaughlin, of yearbook photos from the 1960’s was shown.
“It was such a fun evening,” Shannon Massey, executive director of alumni and development said. “I could tell that everyone enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and telling stories about the past.”
