Wilson tabbed Chair of Cowley College Board of TrusteesThe Cowley College Board of Trustees appointed Gary Wilson to assume the duties of Chair of the Board during Tuesday night’s meeting held in the Earle N. Wright Community Room following a tie vote and a resultant coin-flip. Wilson was elected to serve a 4-year term on the Board of Trustees, starting in January 2018. Being one of only four schools from Kansas to take part in the National Academic Quiz Tournament Community College Sectional, the Cowley College Quiz Bowl teams found wins hard to come by. However, the team did have some impressive individual performances. 
Going up against other schools in the state of Kansas, the Cowley College men and women's track and field teams opened the indoor season by taking a small group of athletes to compete at the Washburn University All-Kansas Invite Saturday in Topeka, KS. 
As was the case in Wednesday’s season-opening win at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, the Cowley College women’s basketball team was keyed by another strong defensive effort in a 86-44 win over the Lady Mavericks Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. 
Facing No. 13-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa for the second time in four days, the No. 24-ranked Cowley College men's basketball team was more competitive than they were in their season-opening loss on Wednesday. However, the Tigers were unable to earn the split of the two games as they suffered a 101-91 loss Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. 
A pair of former Cowley College basketball players, Michael Massey and Mike Abasolo, have gone on to establish themselves as highly successful basketball coaches in the state of Kansas. The two recently had an opportunity to coach against one another and reminisce about their time at Cowley. 
Serving as a team leader on two incredibly successful Cowley College men's basketball teams, former All-American Jack Crowder has been selected for induction into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame ceremonies will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2021. 
Scott Hennessey, who helped the Cowley College baseball team to back-to-back Junior College World Series titles in 1997 and 1998, has continued to have great success as the manager of the Tulsa Drillers and recently spent the 2020 baseball season as a special assistant with the World Series winning Los Angeles Dodgers. Hennessey will return to Cowley College on Saturday, February 6 to be inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame. 
Eliane (Lilly) Domingos, a two-time All-American that currently ranks third all-time in kills in the history of the Cowley College volleyball program, has been selected for induction into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2021. 
In only its third year of existence, the Cowley College wrestling team achieved a top-15 national ranking and captured the Jayhawk Conference title by going unbeaten at the Jayhawk Duals. The Tigers will look to build off of its strong 2019-2020 campaign as they enter into an unknown 2021 season. 
In a battle of ranked teams, No. 13-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Mavericks raced out to a big lead and never looked back in defeating No. 24-ranked Cowley College 110-96 Wednesday in the season-opener for both teams played in Tonkawa, OK. 
A pair of former Ponca City (OK) High School teammates came off the bench to help lift the Cowley College women's basketball team to an 89-66 season-opening road win over Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Wednesday in Tonkawa, OK. 
Four-time national champion Kelsey Poljansek, recognized as the top-thrower in the history of the Cowley College women's track and field program, will be inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 6, 2021. 
Still recognized as the most feared hitter in the history of the Cowley College softball program, Kashilia Young will return home to be inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021. 
Always a threat to capture the conference title, the Cowley College volleyball team was recently picked second out of 11 teams in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division pre-season selections. The Lady Tigers were picked behind only Johnson County. 
With the start of the spring semester at Cowley College, the school recently announced sophomores Gus Freeman and Paige Hughes as its January Male and Female Athletes of the Month. 
Through the work of Phi Theta Kappa students, Cowley College offered a weekly shuttle to Wal-Mart for students as a pilot program in November 2020. The free shuttle took students from the main campus in Arkansas City to Wal-Mart and gave them time to shop for groceries and essential items. There were 10 participants for the first shuttle on Friday, November 13, and 11 participants for the second shuttle on Thursday, November 19. 
A trio of Cowley College athletes opened the 2021 indoor track and field season by competing at the Highland Multis held Friday and Saturday in Highland, KS. Sophomore Taylor Meinen won the women's pentathlon by scoring 2,072 points in her five events. 
With more than 30 years of dedicated service to Cowley College, Somsy Sengvixay, lead groundskeeper, is the spring 2021 recipient of Cowley College’s Tiger Heart Award.
