Cowley's program for 50 and over to hold spring enrollment
Spring enrollment for classes in the Institute of Lifetime Learning at Cowley County Community College is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room inside the Brown Center at Cowley.
The Institute is for women and men age 50 and over. There is a $5 registration fee and a fee of $2 per class. Fees for classes and trips are due at the time of enrollment. Some classes have additional costs.
Persons planning to attend enrollment from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 22 should bring mailing labels to use on their enrollment forms and sign-up sheets. This saves writing your name repeatedly and speeds up the enrollment process. Enrollment by telephone will be accepted after Jan. 22.

Monday, March 15 - Mystery Trip. North, south, east or west. What's your guess? Depart from Ireland Hall at 7:30 a.m. and return early evening. Cost is $25 plus lunch.
Thursday, April 8 - South-central Kansas. The first stop will be the Karg Art in Kechi for a tour and coffee break. Then it's on to Newton to visit the Carriage Factory and Kaufman Museum. The Copper Shed in Marion will be the last stop. Depart from Ireland Hall at 7:30 a.m. and return late afternoon. Cost is $30, and lunch is included.
Friday, April 23 - Benton, Kan. A great evening is planned for a trip to the Prairie Rose near Benton. In addition to a delicious meal and music, the group will enjoy the Hopalong Cassidy Cowboy Museum, Roy Rogers movies, and train and wagon rides. The bus will depart at 4 p.m. and arrive back around 11 p.m. Cost is $35, and includes dinner.
Wednesday, May 12 - Sedan, Kan. The group's last trip will follow the yellow brick road to Sedan. The tour will include several stops such as the Sugar Mining Candy Factory and the Art of the Prairie Gallery. The group will head to the Red Buffalo Ranch for a great chuck wagon lunch and wagon ride. A cowboy poet also will perform. Depart from Ireland Hall at 8:30 a.m. and return late afternoon. Cost is $30, and lunch is included.

The Institute's spring picnic is planned for 12:30 p.m. May 4 in the Wright Community Room. Cost for the lunch is $7.50.
