Cowley Concert Choir performs at first annual Western Kansas Choral Festival

With Cowley College Director of Vocal Music Connie Donatelli serving as the guest conductor, the Cowley Concert Choir performed at the first annual Western Kansas Choral Festival hosted by Scott City High School Thursday at the school’s brand new fine arts center.

Joining the Cowley Concert Choir at the festival were high school choirs from Leoti, Ulysses, Holcomb, and Scott City.

After accompanying the high school choirs on three songs, the Cowley Concert Choir sang a complete program of their own.

Today, the Cowley Concert Choir will travel to Chaparral High School to perform for the school’s high school choir at 12:30 p.m.

Two members of the Cowley Concert Choir are from Chaparral in Ross Downing and Janae Reber. Megan Gechter and Logan Geist are from Scott City, and Heather Bailes attended Holcomb High School.

“This will be a good way to start the semester, it will be a lot of fun,” Donatelli said.
