Landscape painter has work on display in Cowley’s Wright Room
The work of painter David Vollbracht is currently on display in Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room. Vollbracht is a representational landscape painter of the West.
His work reflects the quality of light, nature, and spirit drawn from the land.
For many years he has made trips to various parts of the West to gather reference material for realistic impressions created primarily in oil. Vollbracht emphasizes the beauty and importance of the natural landscape in his compositions. He is intrigued by the patterns and shapes in nature and concentrates on the effects of light on these elements.
Vollbracht’s knowledge has been nurtured by attending the art workshops of Clyde Aspevig and Wayne Wolfe. He recently received Signature Membership to Oil Painters of America. Vollbracht has shown his work at numerous shows including: Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson, AZ.; Western Regional Art Show and Sale in Cheyenne, WY., National Miniature Show in La Luz, NM; National Oil Painters of America Exhibitions; and the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Show in Winter Park, CO.
His art work is currently being displayed in the following galleries: Elkhorn Art Gallery in Winter Park, CO., and Legends Fine Art in Great Bend.
