Institute of Lifetime Learning changes name to Cowley Golden Tigers

Wanting a name more associated with Cowley College, the Institute of Lifetime Learning recently changed its name to the Cowley Golden Tigers.

Known as the Institute of Lifetime Learning since 1973, the name change was recently approved by the college’s administrative council.

“We think the name Cowley Golden Tigers looks more inviting and is more connected to the college,” Margaret Neal, program coordinator for the Cowley Golden Tigers said.

The Cowley Golden Tigers offer classes for women and men age 50 and over. It is a way for them to continue their education and have fun while doing it. It also serves as a way to stay active and meet new people.

The Cowley Golden Tigers are offering an Alaska cruise July 25 through Aug. 1, 2007. The cruise consists of a seven-day Northbound Glacier Route with ports of calls to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Sitka.
The cost of the cruise ranges from $1,921 to $2,941 per person. The price includes cruise passage, port taxes, federal taxes, and roundtrip airfare from Wichita.

The Cowley Golden Tigers also have four educational trips planned in the spring.
