Smith, Hallacy named Cowley’s Homecoming king and queen
Capping off a week full of Homecoming activities, Alexie Smith and Brandy Hallacy were named Cowley College’s Homecoming king and queen during halftime of the Tiger men’s basketball game vs. Fort Scott on Wednesday at W.S. Scott Auditorium/Dan Kahler Court.
Hallacy, the daughter of Tim Hallacy and Edie Burklin, is a sophomore from Wichita. She is involved in Peers Advocating Wellness for Students and is the captain of the Tigerette Danceline.
As a freshman, she received the award as the Danceline’s Best Motivator. She currently works at Cowley’s Tiger Deli along with being a dance teacher. She also serves as a resident assistant in the Oscar Kimmell Dormitory.
After graduating from Cowley, she plans to continue working on her early childhood degree and continue dancing.
Smith, the son of Michael and Marlene Smith, is a sophomore from Derby. At Cowley, He is involved in Act I, Math & Science Club, CCF, Cowley Crazies, and serves as Activities Liaison for SGA.
He was awarded “Best Eyes” at Cowley’s 2006 Mr. Cinderfella Pageant. He plans to continue his pursuit of earning an art degree after graduating from Cowley.
Madilynn Sanderholm, the daughter of Cowley Danceline coach Lindsay Sanderholm, and Hadlea Shaw, the daughter of Cowley spirit squad coach Kristi Shaw, brought out the crowns to present to the winners. While, last year’s queen, Ashley Colburn, crowned this year’s king and queen.
Queen finalists were: Brandy Hallacy, Ashley Arnold, Eliane Domingos, Brittany Wilson, and Ashley Poage.
King finalists were: Alexie Smith, Tyler Fleming, Joe Harvey, Aaron Loehr, and Matt Muncy.
