Eighth Annual Career and Tech Job Fair a huge success
With representatives from 21 companies on hand, more than 100 students took part in Cowley College’s Eighth Annual Career and Tech Job Fair held Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Eight companies conducted interviews with soon to be Cowley graduates, while other companies took resumes and will conduct interviews at a later date.
Several students were offered jobs on the spot.
Dawna Headrick, Career and Tech Education Department secretary, was extremely pleased with the outcome of the Career and Tech Job Fair. “This job fair is very important to the placement of our students,” Headrick said. “We look at it as a service to both the students and companies in industry. I look at it as a success when someone walks away with an interview or a job. The experience alone will help them for future interviews.”
The following companies were in attendance: Cowley Work Force Center; Raytheon Aircraft Company; Tammy Brown, Arbor E&T; KSU; Sykes; Zachary – Ponca City; FTS; O’Reilly’s; Western Technologies; Halibrand Wheels; TIMEC; Kansas Tire; Cessna Aircraft; Smith International; Cessna; HMT; Case New Holland; Spears Manufacturing; KE Miller; GE; the Army.
