Cowley College to hold TRIO Senior Day on April 5


High School seniors attending Cowley College’s TRIO Senior Day on April 5 could be the recipient of a full scholarship covering books and tuition.

The TRIO Senior Day will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Brown Center’s Wright Room on the Arkansas City campus.

Liz Shepard, Upward Bound director, will begin the day by speaking to the students in attendance. An overview of the college will follow with an information session.

Cowley admissions counselors will also be on hand to answer questions. A campus tour will take place at 11 a.m. and the day will conclude with a free lunch and door prizes.

The Trio program is comprised of IMPACT, Upward Bound, and PEAKS.

Requirements for the TRIO scholarship are as follows: Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average; must attend college full-time; need to be seeking a degree; have to be an active participant in the Student Support Services program (IMPACT); must participate in one IMPACT cultural and academic event each semester; need to attend all scheduled meetings with an IMPACT advisor; and must assist with IMPACT events and participate in focus groups as needed.
