Cowley College's spring play "Don't Drink the Water" to be held March 6-8
Tickets will begin going on sale on Monday, Feb. 18
for Cowley College’s
spring play “Don’t Drink the Water”, which will be
held at 7:30 p.m. March 6-8 in the Robert Brown Theatre.
The story, which was written by Woody Allen, takes place at an American embassy in the early 1980s at a time when communism is beginning to get a firm hold in Europe.
While traveling in the Soviet Union, two American tourists are mistaken for spies. They escape to the American embassy for refuge, where they spend the remainder of the story attempting to find a way home.
“It’s a light-hearted, really well written comedy,” Cowley College Director of Theatre and Theatrical Services Scott MacLaughlin said.
Forty students auditioned for the fourteen available roles.
“The students are doing a great job,” MacLaughlin said. “Hopefully, the people will have as much fun seeing it as we are having putting it together.”
Tickets can be purchased at the Cowley Box Office, which is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The phone number to the box office is (620) 441-5570. The cost is $8 for the general public and $4 for Cowley students. Tickets for both the dinner and show, which will be available for Friday and Saturday, are $18.
