Finalists for Cowley's Homecoming royalty announced
The list of students vying for Homecoming Queen and King at Cowley College
has been narrowed.
The Student Life Office at Cowley released the names of the five Queen and five King finalists for Homecoming 2008, which is scheduled for Feb. 20.
Queen finalists are Katie Bevilaqua from Wichita; Rachelle Bloyer from Winfield; Abby Cantrell from Derby; Bethany Schmidt from Kremlin, Okla.; and Elisha Swope from Arkansas City.
King finalists are Will Brantley from Arkansas City; Richard Filkuka from the Czech Republic; Larry Hill from Oklahoma City, Okla.; Joe Lauer from Strong City, Kan.; and Alex Skov from Winfield.
Each of the 10 candidates are involved in at least one extracurricular activity on campus. Online voting is currently underway.
The Homecoming Dance will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight on Feb. 20 in the Cowley Recreation Building on the main campus. The King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the men’s basketball game Feb. 20 against Labette Community College in W.S. Scott Auditorium/Dan Kahler Court. The men’s game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
