Mack, interior design students design room at Symphony Showhouse XV
Bridget Mack, Cowley College’s Interior Design Program Coordinator,
with senior students Daphne Lynch and Heather Hayes were invited to design
one of the rooms at the Symphony Showhouse XV.
The show house is a fundraising event that helps support the Wichita Symphony. A home is given over to the hands of some of the best designers in the Wichita and surrounding areas to completely revamp it into a show place. This year has been no exception. The home exudes elegance and sophisticated tastes that the integrity of the house intended.
Each design team gets the opportunity to bid on what rooms they would like to do, the Showhouse committee elects which team will get the space. Cowley bid on a guest bath that is adjacent to the guest bedroom and won the bid. Mack and her students worked from June to mid July getting the room prepared for the event.
Freshmen in the interior design program will be conducting the tours of the home Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for all the interior design students to be a part of this wonderful design event in Wichita,” Mack said. “It is estimated that approximately 15,000 plus people will pass through the Showhouse this year.”
