Creative Claws Club
Kim Bryant, president of the creative writing club, reports that a name
has been selected for the new club, Creative Claws. Originally, this
club was combined with Tyger Tawk communications club, but after interest
in the Open Mic Nights and the creative writing program increased, it
was decided by Marlys Cervantes, Creative Claws sponsor, and Tom Mason,
Tyger Tawk sponsor, that there should be two individual clubs. SGA approved
the new club at their September meeting.
Cervantes reports that the first Open Mic Night of the year will be held
on Tuesday, October 9, at Brown’s at 7 p.m.
“Brown’s has been a great community partner for our club,” Cervantes
said. “Last year’s events were very successful, and we look forward
to working with them again this year.”
To be put on the line-up for Open Mic Night, students need to bring copies
of their works to Cervantes, in the Humanities Department, as soon as
possible.
