Cowley honors graduating class from Aviation Tech Center

Honoring those that completed its Airframe and Powerplant program, a graduation ceremony was held Saturday at Cowley College’s Aviation Tech Center, located at 7603 E. Pawnee in Wichita.

Noel Gary, Director of Aviation Programs, gave the opening remarks.

Stan Younger, Vice President of Service Facilities at Cessna Aircraft Company, gave the commencement address. Younger’s main focus is on efficient organizational structure driving lean production, while maintaining the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction.
Along with earning a MBA and BBA from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, Younger is also an A&P Technician, earning his ratings through the Spartan School of Aeronautics.

Cowley College President Dr. Pat McAtee gave the closing remarks. Students who graduate from the AMT program are guaranteed a job interview from Wichita’s Cessna Aircraft Company.

Also in attendance were, Tim Norton, Sedgwick County Commissioner, Second District; Kent Irick, Manager of Technical Training at Cessna Aircraft Company; Dan Dymarkowski, Director of Labor Relations at Hawker Beechcraft; Sheree Utash, Cowley College Vice President of Academic Affairs; Susan Norton, Cowley College Dean of Corporate Education; and Gene Cole, former Associate Dean of Business and Industry at Cowley College.
