Homecoming 2009 "Cowley Masquerade" to be held Feb. 11

 

Online voting for Cowley College Homecoming King and Queen candidates will take place Jan. 21-25. The top-five men and women will be determined at that time. Final online voting for King and Queen will be held Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

Coronation will take place at halftime of the Cowley College men’s basketball game against the Labette Cardinals on Feb. 11. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. Last year’s King and Queen were Will Brantley and Elisha Swope.

A Homecoming Dance will follow the men's basketball game and will be held at the Cowley Recreation Building.

The week of Homecoming will feature a Spirit Week in which winners will be based on club/sport participation. The club that demonstrates the most participation in Homecoming events will receive $100 towards their club/sport.

Spirit Week activities:

  • Monday, Feb. 9
    80’s Day (Judging will be located in the Brown Center-lower level foyer from 9-11 a.m. and in the cafeteria from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, February 10
    Super Hero Day (Judging will be located in the Brown Center-lower level foyer from 9-11 a.m. and in the cafeteria from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, February 11
    Orange and Black Day (Judging will be located in the Brown Center-lower level foyer from 9-11 a.m. and in the cafeteria from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.)

A Bonus Club Sheet contest will be held. Help decorate a sheet with your club and display it at the Cowley College basketball games on Feb. 11 and the winning sheet will receive $50 towards their club. The winner will be announced at halftime of the women’s game, which will begin at 5:30 p.m.
