Twenty original works presented at Open Mic Night
Ten writers presented 20 original works to a crowd of just over 50 people
during Open Mic Night held Thursday at Brown’s in Arkansas City.
Poems, short stories and songs were enjoyed by all.
“As always, Kim Ebert and Brown’s were perfect hosts for our event,” Marlys
Cervantes, Creative Claws sponsor said. “The atmosphere is perfect for
the students to congregate and get their creativity and ideas out in the open.”
Joanna Carson, club president, ended the evening by reminding everyone
that there will be another Open Mic Night on April 9. She also mentioned
that meetings are held the last Thursday of the month in the Jungle conference
room.
In addition, the club will host a Comedy Night competition on April 16,
so students should begin writing their routines for that evening.
