President of ACHS Choir accepts scholarship to Cowley
Having excelled as a singer and pianist, Arkansas City High School senior
Jessica Coldwell will bring her talent to Cowley College in the fall
as she recently accepted a Vocal Scholarship from the school.
Coldwell auditioned for the Vocal Scholarship during Cowley College’s Fine Arts Day. During the audition, Coldwell accompanied herself on the piano while she sang.
Cowley College vocal music director, Connie Donatelli, is looking forward to having Coldwell share her talent and leadership in the Vocal Music department.
“She has been an outstanding member of the Vocal and Instrumental departments at Ark City High School,” Donatelli said.
Coldwell is currently serving as president of the Arkansas City High School Choir, and is a member of the Symphonic Choir and Ark High Singers.
“Music has been a part of my life since I was seven years old,” Coldwell said. “I have always wanted to sing and play the piano.”
She also serves as a member of the ACHS Orchestra as a viola and violin player. She is a member of the ACHS Jazz Band and is vice president of the Drama Club. She has also been involved in all of the school’s plays and musicals.
Coldwell is eager to begin her musical journey at Cowley.
“I have heard so many great things about the music program here,” Coldwell said. “I look forward to working with Connie (Donatelli) and Steve (Butler) and learn all I can while I am here.”
Coldwell plans to be involved in Choir, Theatre, and possibly the Jazz Band at Cowley.
