Local dance groups perform at Winter Wonderland

TigerettesPerforming in front of a sold out crowd Friday at Cowley College’s Robert Brown Theatre, more than 200 participants took part in the Winter Wonderland Festival of Dance.

“It went off without a hitch, everything went great,” said Cowley College dance instructor Jennifer Blatchford, The evening consisted of special performances by members of the Tigerette Danceline, Ark City Dance and Cindy’s School of Dance.

“It was neat to see all of those kids on stage at one time,” Blatchford said.

The Cowley Concert Choir, accompanied by director of piano and music theory, Steve Butler, closed the show with a rousing performance.

“The choir added an amazing part to the show, there is something special about live music,” Blatchford said.

With the incredible success of the show, Blatchford intends to do a scaled down version next year.

“We would like people to get into a habit of coming to the performance,” Blatchford said.
