Cowley student receives scholarship from KSOK
Majoring in communications, Cowley College sophomore John Windle was
awarded a $100 scholarship from KSOK Radio 95.9 FM, Thursday at the
radio station in Arkansas City.
At Cowley, Windle is a Student Ambassador, member of the Film Club, and president of the Student Government Association. Windle, who plans to attend Emporia State University next fall, was happy to be informed he was the first recipient of the scholarship.
“It goes to show that a lot of people in the community care about the students at Cowley College,” Windle said. “It is very much appreciated.”
Adam Borth, director of communications at Cowley College, serves as an advisor to Windle and also has him as a student in his Intro to Broadcasting and Radio Practicum classes.
“John deserves this scholarship, he works really hard and puts in a lot of hours,” Borth said. “I appreciate what KSOK is doing and hope to continue a working relationship with KSOK and our communications department.”
