Student works displayed during reception in Wright Room
The Earle N. Wright Community Room was alive with written works and images
both still and moving on Thursday, May 6 for the student works reception
titled “Life, Through Words and Lens”. The collaboration
of creative writing, digital photography and communications classes
exhibited works from this semester.
“We are so proud of our students,” said Humanities Chair Marlys Cervantes. “It was especially nice for those graduating to get to showcase their work. They are so creative and have bright futures ahead of them.”
Cervantes’ creative writing students displayed samples of their works in either an electronic or traditional portfolio format. Parents, friends, staff and faculty came to peruse the works.
"I was pleased with the crowd and I continue to be impressed with the extraordinary talents of our students," said director of communications, Adam Borth.
Director of journalism, Meg Smith, enjoyed seeing the photography students improve their skills throughout the school year.
“What a great way to end the semester, sharing your inspiration with others,” Smith said. “It was fun to work with the photography students and watch as they learned to really get the camera to work for them.”
