Sixteen selected to be part of prestigious Cowley College Singers

With close to 30 individuals auditioning to be a part of the Cowley College Singers, vocal music director Connie Donatelli recently made her choice of 16 singers to join the prestigious group.

Students must be a member of the Concert Choir in order to audition for a spot on the Cowley College Singers.

Those selected to become a part of the Cowley College Singers were: Erin Burroughs, Jessica Coldwell, Amy Dunlap, Shaelynn French, Anne Harmon, Nicole Hoerschgen, Jessica Latham, Whitnie Means, Corey Dalton, Zavier Hartung, Mitch Hoover, Robert Hutson, Bryce Sund, Ian Sutton, Tim Wilson, and Mitch Wright.

Donatelli is impressed with the quality of singers in the group.

“Scott MacLaughlin (Theatre Director) said he thinks this is one of the strongest group of singers that has come through in a while,” Donatelli said.

The Cowley College Singers will take part in its fall retreat Friday and Saturday at Prairie View Christian Camp. While at the retreat, members will begin learning the show they will perform Oct. 27in the Robert Brown Theatre titled “The Magical Music of Disney”.

“They are super enthusiastic about the Fall Retreat and the show in October,” Donatelli said.

The Cowley College Singers meet twice a week for vocal rehearsal with Donatelli, and also take part in a dance lab on Wednesday’s with choreographer Jennifer Blatchford.

The Cowley College Singers and Concert Choir will be performing “The Magical Music of Disney” Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
