Fall induction ceremony held for Phi Theta Kappa
New inductees along with their many friends and relatives attended the
2009 fall induction ceremony of Phi Theta Kappa held Sunday inside
Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Melinda Neal, faculty advisor on the Ark City campus, welcomed the group and showed a video explaining the honor and benefits of membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Irona Cliver, V. P. of Leadership on the Mulvane campus and Kansas Regional Alumni Relations Officer, was the speaker for the program. Cliver is a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps and attends Wichita State University as well as Cowley College. She spoke about what membership in Phi Theta Kappa has meant to her and shared with the attendees her thoughts on the qualities of a good leader. She also encouraged the new members to get involved with their campus groups right away and take advantage of all Phi Theta Kappa has to offer. The Alpha Gamma Upsilon chapter officers from both campuses conducted the induction ceremony and hosted the reception that followed.
If you received a letter of invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa this semester, it's not too late. The final deadline is November 15. Contact Melinda Neal on the Ark City campus or Nancy Ayers at Mulvane for more information.
