Five Cowley students qualify for PBL national competition
Participating in the Kansas Phi Beta Lambda 60th annual State Leadership Conference held Friday and Saturday at Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City, five of Cowley College’s PBL students qualified to attend the National PBL Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL, June 22 -27.
Sarah Mathews, Cowley College PBL advisor, was proud of the PBL member’s accomplishments.
“I truly enjoyed hosting the 60th annual State Leadership Conference,” Mathews said. “It was a lot of work, however it paid off. I am extremely proud of our students and their accomplishments, and we are all very excited to attend the National conference in Florida. I am proud to have each of the members represent our Local chapter.”
During the State Leadership Conference, Mathews was named the Phi Beta Lambda Advisor of the Year.
Other colleges participating in the conference were, Butler Community College, Central Christian College of McPherson, Colby Community College, Emporia State University, Labette Community College and Southwestern College.

*Ashley Andes, Winfield, KS - 2nd Statistical Analysis
*Reese Blaylock, South Haven, KS - 1st Job Interview
*Krista Cross, Shidler, OK - 3rd Job Interview
*Jordan Lukert, Clearwater, KS - 1st Sales Presentation; 3rd Business Presentation; 3rd Client Services.
*Haley Rouleau, Wellington, KS - 1st Client Services; 3rd Computer Applications
*Team of Haley Rouleau and Krista Cross placed 3rd in desktop Publishing.
*Team of Ashley Andes, Reese Blaylock, Krista Cross, and Jordan Lukert placed 1st in Parliamentary procedures.
