Cowley Activity Awareness Team to stay busy in April
Looking for ways to be involved in the community, the Cowley
Activity Awareness Team has lined up three events during the month of
On April 11-12 members of CAAT will present a program to Arkansas City Middle School students concerning, “I am Different: Celebrating Differences”. This will involve 10-15 minute testimonials given by CAAT students, as well as a few other Cowley students, concerning how they are “different”.
“The CAAT kids involved in this have really worked hard on this, and it should be a great program in which Cowley students are positively reaching out to the community around them,” CAAT sponsor Charlee Wilson said.
The group will then assist Safe Homes in a domestic violence awareness presentation that will take place at 7 p.m. April 18 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Also in April, CAAT will be working to clean up trash as part of Adopt-A-Highway. CAAT has adopted a two-mile stretch of highway 77 north of Arkansas City. Once their sign is up in mid to late April they will spend a Saturday morning cleaning debris from that stretch of highway.
“This will be an ongoing event for CAAT several times a year over the next two years,” Wilson said. “This goes along with CAAT’s April theme of “Earth Awareness: It’s Green For A Reason”. We will also be planting a couple trees on campus during April.”
