Community members share their thoughts on the college during PIE FORUM
Looking to gain feedback from members of the community, Cowley College
held a PIE FORUM Wednesday night in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
The forum served as an opportunity for Cowley administrators to share information about the college and then gain feedback from its constituents.
Cowley College president, Dr. Patrick J. McAtee, informed those in attendance of his goals for the school and spoke of the college’s rapid growth over the past three years.
Athletic director Tom V. Saia then spoke glowingly of the indoor athletic facility, which is being built south of the school’s baseball field and west of the track and field parking lot.
Sue Saia, vice president of student affairs, then opened up a round-table discussion, where community members addressed strengths and weaknesses of the college as well as opportunities and threats the school may face.
Among those in attendance were, Winfield City Commissioner Phi Jarvis, District 2 Cowley County Commissioner Gary Wilson, Cowley County administrator Leroy Alsup, Arkansas City Mayor Patrick McDonald, and Kerri Falletti Director at Cowley First-Cowley County Economic Development Partnership.
Dr. McAtee appreciated the input from those who attended the forum.
“Even though it was a small group the quality of feedback we received was really useful and we plan to follow up on it,” Dr. McAtee said.
Pie and refreshments were provided during the forum.
