Pompeo makes visit to Cowley College


Pompeo Speaking to a large crowd of students and community members, Congressman Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Representative for Kansas’s 4th congressional district, shared his views and answered questions during a public forum Wednesday in Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.

“Anytime I get out into the community, it’s always a positive experience. Particularly when I get to meet with students!” Congressman Pompeo said. “I really love to hear the thoughts and concerns from my young constituents, as so many of our fiscal challenges will affect future generations. I’m dedicated to forming solutions that will get us back on the path to prosperity so we can begin to grow jobs again for these young citizens. I was proud to visit Cowley College.”

Prior to the forum, Pompeo met with Cowley College administrators as well as District 2 Cowley County Commissioner Gary Wilson and Lance Niles, marketing president for The Stock Exchange Bank’s branch in Arkansas City. The meeting took place inside Cowley College’s Hall of Fame Room.

“We really enjoyed hosting Congressman Pompeo on campus and especially appreciated the opportunity to ask questions about issues that may affect the college,” Cowley College president Dr. Patrick J. McAtee said.
