Art students to sell creative works as part of fundraiser
Hoping to raise money to help with its trip to Santa Fe, NM, members
of Cowley College’s Art Club will sell their creative works from
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Nelson Student Center.
Price of the art work will range from $2 to $30 and will consist of paintings, drawings, ceramics, pots, bowls, plates, and duct tape items such as roses, purses, wallets and messenger bags.
The trip to Santa Fe is scheduled for May 17-21. While there, students will learn about Santa Fe's remarkable history, art and cultural heritage that are preserved in many of its museums. Mark Flickinger and Mike Fell, art instructors at Cowley College, will accompany the students on their trip.
Members of the art club include Caitlin Bowman, Megan Blevins, Alex Bowker, Abby Showalter, Marc Hunt, Jessica Vega, Maribel Ramirez, Craig Cropek, and Jake Durshee.
The fourth annual Art Club Chili Bowl/Plate-o-Cookies sale held in December rose close to $1,000 to help with the trip.
