Cowleys Graphic Design program provides students with exciting opportunities
With cutting edge technology and a 20 station computer lab, Cowley College’s
Graphic Design program offers students an exciting major as well as one
that will transfer to a four-year university.
The Graphic Design program combines the art, science, business, and technology of visual communication into a comprehensive two-year degree. Focus is on the basics of good design through problem definition, analysis, idea exploration, idea development, refinement, and production. All courses build on the fundamentals of design and excellence in craft.
Along with the 20 station computer lab, Cowley also provides students with Adobe Design Premium CS5 software; oversized scanner; color laser printer; light table; professional-grade cutter; and numerous other design resources.
The school’s graphic design program is also very connected to the community. They have partnered with several area businesses to allow students the ability to work on real-world jobs as well as experience a true client relationship. Those businesses include: Muffin Top Bakery & Confections, Winfield Chamber of Commerce, Cowley County Conservation District, and the Sumner County Community Drug Action Team. Next semester, the school is looking forward to working with the Ark City Country Club.
The entirely revamped curriculum allows students lots of flexibility. Students may seek an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design.
