Cowley College hosts Chamber Coffee
Members of the Arkansas City community attended the Chamber Coffee Thursday
morning inside Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
During the Chamber Coffee, representatives of the college spoke of
the school ranking as the fastest growing college in the state of Kansas.
Coaches of the Tiger athletic programs also spoke of the successful seasons their teams are having. The athletic accomplishments include having the volleyball team and both the men and women’s cross country teams being ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The Tiger men and women’s soccer teams are also having stellar seasons as they have already set school records for wins in a season, and find themselves near the top of the conference and region standings.
Scott MacLaughlin, director of theatre and theatrical services, and Jamison Rhoads, technical director, were joined by cast members from the fall play “The Miracle Worker”, which runs Oct. 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Robert Brown Theatre. Cast members Aaron Brooks (Captain Keller), William Wegele (James Keller), and Anne Harmon (Kate Keller) portrayed a scene from the powerful play, which tells the story of the life of Helen Keller.
The Chamber Coffee concluded with a drawing for a pair of tickets to the Emerson Drive concert, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Robert Brown Theatre. Mark Speck of Elite Advertising was the winner of the drawing.
