Students present original works at the Writers Corner

Eleven Cowley College writers presented 24 original works Thursday evening in the College’s Band writers cornerRoom. Creative Claws, Cowley’s writing club, hosted the Writers’ Corner to an audience of over 30.

“Tonight was incredible once again,” said sponsor Marlys Cervantes. “Our students are so talented. I’ve always been awed by their creative works and their presentation of these works.”

Cervantes and Ryan Doom co-sponsor the club this year,  and they encourage students to take creative writing classes.

“Sometimes these classes are nice mental health breaks from all the other studying students have to do in a given semester,” Cervantes said. See Cervantes or Doom, who both presented works at the event, for further information about the classes or club.

Creative Claws will be selling Christmas cards to be delivered prior to finals week to Cowley students, staff or faculty as a fundraiser over the next few days, so watch for students coming by, or contact Cervantes for more information.

Next semester, Creative Claws will host two Writers’ Corner and a comedy competition.
