Math and Science Club visits Insect Adventure

Math and Science Club

Cowley College’s Mu Alpha Sigma Chi (Math and Science Club) traveled to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK on November 16 to visit the Insect Adventure and get answers to all those questions that have been "bugging" them about the world's largest group of animals from a professional entomologist and Director of Youth Outreach, Andrine Shufran.

The hands on experience exposed the participants to many rare arthropods (insects and spiders) and explained their importance to our daily lives and even our existence on this planet. Ten inch millipedes and giant tarantulas are just a few of the organism members that participants had an opportunity to handle.

Those in attendance included advisors, Scott Layton and April Nittler, and Math and Science Club members: Ashley Arseneault, Ashley Clinard, Felicia McCormick, Abbey Ramirez, Kenny Mills, Chelsea Weathers, Baye Burkes, Melissa Snider, and Sarah Kernell.
