Art Club fundraiser nets nearly $1,000
All of the hours and hard work put into making bowls and plates paid off as the fourth annual Art Club Chili Bowl/Plate-o-Cookies sale held Thursday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room raised close to $1,000.
Individuals that purchased a bowl were treated to homemade chili, while cookies were offered with a purchase of a plate. The money raised was the most in the four years of the event.
“I believe that it speaks to not only the dedication and hard work of Mike (Fell) and our students but also to our many friends at Cowley, who are so generous and kind in their support of Cowley Arts,” Art Club co-sponsor Mark Flickinger said.
According to fellow Art Club co-sponsor Mike Fell; the fundraiser will help the Art Club with its planned trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the spring to visit museums and art galleries.
Around 40 bowls remain available for purchase. The bowls can be viewed Monday and Tuesday in Kerr-Technology Building, Room 111.
