NDT students hear positive outlook from guest speakers
Nondestructive Testing students were well informed when representatives from SGS Inspection Services came to the classroom on Wednesday, February 29th, to speak with them about future job possibilities after graduation.
Gary Aston and Jed Redman represented SGS Inspection Services, which is located in Ponca City and Bartlesville, OK. Aston and Redman discussed job opportunities that are available to graduating students, as well as the possibility of getting into an internship for “first year students” if they are so interested.
Aston and Redman discussed many different topics, from the methods that the students will be performing, to the pay that they could be expecting to earn upon graduation with the Associates of Applied Science in NDT. They also were very receptive to questions and concerns that the students had regarding graduation and job placement.
Aston provided the students with an encouraging job outlook once completing the NDT program.
“If you have the degree when you leave here, you will find employment if you want to work,” Aston said.
Students were relieved to hear they had numerous opportunities, and were more confident in their choice of education, after the visit.
Aston and Redman spoke to the students for about and hour and a half and were also accepting resumes from students that are preparing to graduate from the NDT program.
