Helping raise money for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cowley County, Cowley College students formed teams as part of the College Bowl held recently at Hillcrest Lanes in Arkansas City.

The Cowley College student teams, along with teams from Southwestern College, have combined to raise $1,794. A pair of teams from Southwestern College have yet to compete and will take part in the event over Spring Break.

The top fundraiser was Jon Zavala from Cowley College with $214, second was Southwestern College student Jessie Riggs raising $190; and third was Brian Underwood with Cowley College, who raised $100.

The College Bowl comes on the heels of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake event, where Cowley College had four teams take part in the fundraiser. Those four Cowley teams combined to be the second highest fundraiser with over $2,100 raised. Prior to the College Bowl, all totaled, with business sponsorships and the bowlers’ pledges, more than $35,000 had been raised.
