Poetry writing students host outdoor reading


poetryToday's a day to celebrate everyone from Shakespeare to Tupac, from Frost to Cowley poets! It's Poem in Your Pocket day!

The Poetry Writing class hosted an outdoor poetry reading of both original and classic works this morning at 10 a.m. on the lawn between the Brown Center and Galle Johnson. About 10 students read works and celebrated Poem in Your Pocket day. They also distributed poems to passersby’s.

"The class would like to invite everyone to our showcase of student works on Wednesday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Wright Room," says instructor Marlys Cervantes. "The students have done a wonderful job this semester, and I hope many people will come out to view their hard work. They are a passionate group of writers."
