Creativity on display during Life: Through Words and Lens student showcase
With writing portfolios, photographic works and communications video projects on display, the Life: Through Words and Lens student works reception was held Wednesday in Cowley College’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
The work was done by students in Meg Smith’s Digital Photography class, Marlys Cervantes and Ryan Doom’s Creative Writing courses, and Adam Borth’s broadcast media and practicum classes. Students in Sunni Goentzel’s graphic design class also had work on display, while those in attendance could view the latest issue of the Mile Marker Review, which is an online literature and art journal published by the Creative Writing Program at Cowley.
Smith was glad to be able to incorporate all of the work into one event.
“Combining it made it that much better, it really showcased the students’ talents,” Smith said.
Among the students that had work on display were, Jacob Korte, Jordan Bellin, Antonio Ayres, Rhiannon Rosas, Jason Williams, Amanda Yauch, Krystal Wardman, Jkwon Thompson, Morgan Arnce, and Mollie Talbert.
Cowley College employees, Ben Schears, Heather Allen, and Liz Shepard also had photography on display, as did former Cowley students Lane Russell and Linda Long.
The items will remain on display and available for purchase through Saturday.
