Cowley alumnus to teach QuickBooks class on June 28
Cowley College’s Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC) has made arrangements with alumnus Alex Gottlob to teach a basic QuickBooks class on June 28th from 8-11:30 a.m. at Cowley College’s Patrick J. McAtee Dining Center located on the school’s main campus in Arkansas City.
Gottlob is a 2007 graduate of the school and was the school’s Student of the Year as a sophomore. He is the owner of Gottlob Lawn and Landscape LLC, and recently donated $28,000 worth of landscaping at the school’s Travis Hafner Training Center.
The local Cowley College KSBDC office receives numerous requests for a variety of workshop topics and subjects, with QuickBooks being one of the most sought workshops. Many small business operators prefer the capabilities and versatility of this relatively low cost accounting software.
This course is suited for both the beginner who has not used QuickBooks yet and for those who are currently using the software but would like to learn how to better utilize the system.
An array of functions will be covered including setting up your accounts, recording transactions, writing checks, invoicing, and much more. Time will be allowed at the end of the classroom to answer questions. If you already have your QuickBooks on your laptop, you are welcome to bring it to follow along.
Due to classroom size, only 24 registrations will be accepted at a fee of $30. Registration can be done online at www.cowleycouty.org/ksbdc or by calling 620-402-6440.
