New employees take part in orientation
Familiarizing themselves with Cowley College, 24 new employees of the school took part in orientation Wednesday on the main campus in Arkansas City.
The day’s agenda consisted of an overview of the college provided by vice president of student affairs, Sue Saia, as well as an intranet/web page overview presentation from library director, Rhoda MacLaughlin, and director of academic enrichment, Janice Stover.
After a break for lunch in the McAtee Dining Center, individuals returned to Webb Brown Room 208 for a safety and security presentation from director of security and public safety, Matt Stone. The day concluded with an overview of employee benefits/human relations policies and procedures from director of employee services, Janice Neagle, and payroll and benefit specialist, Ellen Kelly.
On Thursday, the new employees will receive an academic overview from vice president of academic affairs, Slade Griffiths; an academic policies/faculty access site presentation from associate dean of instruction, Greg Nichols and Janice Stover; and a rundown on the purchase order/leave request system from accounting coordinator, Joycelyn Goff, and executive vice president of business services, Tony Crouch.
